I came on board to support this multi-award winning, internationally acclaimed documentary feature by the very talented, yet humble, director Malik Bendjellou, at an early stage of a rough-cut when it was pitched. The true narrative sang out to me as a universal timeless human story that was irresistible, along with compelling music, and Malik and Rodriguez were very special talents within an experienced team. Eventually Malik and Sixto Rodriguez received both the Oscar and the BAFTAs they deserved, amongst many other international awards. The soundtrack continues to be played around the world.
