As Producer, Sheryl collaborated closely with director Marc Evans and writer Ed Thomas on the adaptation of the theatre script into a film screenplay. Sheryl raised the finance in Wales, England, and The Netherlands as an international coproduction and, as sole producer, oversaw everything creatively and commercially. The film was greatly enhanced by working with the camera team from La Haine, as well as an original score from legendary composer John Cale. House of America also launched award-winning Welsh actor Matthew Rhys’s career as House of America was his first film – he recently made history in 2026 by simultaneous winning two Best Actor Emmy’s. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival and won several BAFTAs.
